How do you gain fame?

It says I need to dl/watch movies to gain fame.

I've download 22 in the last week and haven't even gained 2 fame to comment.

What's up?

You need to download alot. Sometimes it doesn't update.

Try logging out and logging back in :)

That issue was resolved, all you can do is download and after 2 fame comment and rate.

Annoyed or not, it has proven worthy of staying the same. The Administration of this site agree it is where it shall remain until further notified by them, I for one agree with them on this matter. If anyone remembers how bad it was before you would probably agree too. Download, download, download...that is all we can suggest.

You need to have watched roughly 30 movies before you can start commenting. This system is in place to keep one time trollers away. That said we are always looking at balancing things out, if this bar is too high for new users we may lower it.

Too high? Not at all, I would actually increase it if it were my choice, but it's not.

I wouldn't say I would increase it or decrease it. It sounds like a pretty good amount, trollers will just get reported usually anyway.

I never had to go through getting my fame up to comment, so I wouldn't know how bad it is, but 30 movies isn't that bad. Must be a dedicated troll XD

I'm always stuck at 37 fame. I would like to have 50 so I can recommend movies for recommended. I download almost every pvp movie there is, probably 2-3 movies a day at least. I've since long before fame was introduced. Why can't I reach 50?

The system changes when you get higher. Once you get high enough (don't know the exact amount) you don't gain fame from commenting, you must submit movies/do other hard stuff.

We have lowered the requirement for "spotlight voting" to 40. You are pretty close :)

I've watched so many movies it'd make your head spin. Do I need to use the WCM livestream to get credit or what? I check this site a few times a day and watch a few movies each day, still no fame, zero, nada zip. I understand the need to not let people comment w/o some sort of filter but goodness. By the time I get 1 fame WoW2 will be out and I'll be getting pwned by my grand children. Let alone getting the 2 required to post.

Maybe some clarification on what exactly counts towards fame is in order.

Dunno how it is nowadays, but I can remember that in earlier times it always took some time (a few days, afair) to update the fame. So in case you joined in the end of august you maybe just wait a little longer.
And I am pretty sure it doesn't have to be a WCM livestream. Wouldn't be logical, btw, cause there are quite some movies out there with no WCM ls.
But if you joined in the beginning of August and really watched a few movies each day, than you should have some fame allready - in that case you should contact an admin (Uzbeki is the man with the plan).

Fame updates once per day (at midnight EST). You do not have to log out or in. Just visit the site :) The old issues with fame was fixed a few months back.

Also I see that you just need a handfull more downloads/views to get to 2 in fame.
