im finishing off a script for a short, dramatic, wow vid
and i was wondering if anyone has any tips for getting the most of the emotes for lip sync
illegal danish does a decent job of it, but there are too many cuts imo. anyone have a guide for which emotes work best for which sounds or just some advice on where to start on that sort of thing

I've found that macro-ing talk emotes helps a lot. You can go right from the regular /talk to an exclamation type, or go to an exclamation type in the middle of /talk. Good for mixing it up.

do you usually listen to the dialouge as you FRAPS or just record a bunch of different emotes and then rely on editing to make it match?

Do what you find easiest and most promising. That's what I would do. :)

It can be quite helpful to listen to the lines, or ask your in-game actors to, then test out which emotes work best.

You could also do a different thing, if you know how to use it.
Use WoW Model Viewer, and decide which emote to use, and in which pace you want it to be.
Then you can sit and coordinate it yourself :)
